Gharanas of Kathak Established under royal patronage of the 20th century as well as cultural influences of various regions, the Gharanas of Kathak refers to the distinct aesthetic features of the dance form nurtured by master practitioners of Kathak who passed on the tradition through familial lineage. Experience the alluring subtlety of the Lucknow Gharana, the enthralling prowess of the Jaipur Gharana and the expansive flourishes of the Banaras Gharana in a 100-minute traditional presentation in solo and group format. Rhythms of North IndiaOur engaging 45–60 minute program features 4–6 professional dancers and is thoughtfully designed for school and library audiences. The presentation blends performance with interactive participation, inviting students and patrons to experience Kathak through rhythm, movement, storytelling, and expressive mime. Ideal for cultural enrichment programs and reading initiatives, this program aligns beautifully with educational goals by introducing audiences to North Indian dance, musicality, creativity, and narrative expression. Participants actively explore concepts such as rhythm, gesture, and storytelling in a lively, accessible format. El Dorado - The Golden One
The Kathak-based ballet is about beautiful Mukta, a girl who goes in search of happiness upon the last message of her departed mother. Her breathtaking voyage, filled with ups and downs is depicted through beautiful Hindustani music fusions, intricate dance sequences, original paintings, poetry, and lighting theatrics. El Dorado is a metaphor of life with all its mystique and enigma. The ballet is written, directed and given music to by Anita Kulkarni - architect-artist and Founder-Artistic Director at Renu Forum for the Arts. The ballet has received rave reviews from media, national art critics, connoisseurs, artists, and art-loving audiences in India. We were delighted to premiere it in North America in 2025 and are open to booking!
