Meet Me on the Meadow:  a 90-minute Kathak ballet

“Meet Me on the Meadow” is a 90-minute Kathak ballet of the timeless Radha-Krishna inspired love story. Watch mesmerizing Kathak displaying sensual charm and spiritual serenity as the drama unfolds through the most melodious Gandharv (celestial music) of raags.
After a successful India run and great reviews, the show premiered in the US in August and September 2019. We are now booking shows across N. America in 2020.

Visharad Rang Manch Pradarshan Fall 2019

14 students reached a major milestone in their Kathak journey after many years of hard work! Each dancer presented a 25-minute solo with live music accompaniment in the presence of an external examiner, Guru Shama Bhate, as part of their Vishard Upantya exam.
Visharad Upantya is Level 6 and Visharad Purna is Level 7 as per the examination system followed by our students in their Kathak journey. Successful completion of Level 7 is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a regular academic setting.
The Visharad exam is a 3-parts: (1) two written exams - of 3 hours each, (2) stage performance or Rang Manch Pradarshan and (3) 1 hour Vaiva a one-on-one practical examination. Each part evaluates the students’ complete knowledge and performance in detail, in every aspect of Kathak.

YUVA 2019, staged on September 7, 2019, brought together twelve rising artists from across the US for an evening of collaborative Indian classical music and dance works. YUVA strives to catalyze collaboration and creativity among young upcoming artists in the Indian classical arts and to encourage them to 'find their artistic voice'.

Shreya Bandopadhyay, Level 7 student of Kathak Rhythms, was selected from among a pool of applicants to  collaborate to create new artistic works for presentation at the YUVA festival. The theme of Shreya's group was "Hidden Struggles - an exploration of issues surrounding mental illness".
