Visharad Rang Manch Pradarshan Fall 2019
14 students reached a major milestone in their Kathak journey after many years of hard work! Each dancer presented a 25-minute solo with live music accompaniment in the presence of an external examiner, Guru Shama Bhate, as part of their Vishard Upantya exam.
Visharad Upantya is Level 6 and Visharad Purna is Level 7 as per the examination system followed by our students in their Kathak journey. Successful completion of Level 7 is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a regular academic setting. The Visharad exam is a 3-parts: (1) two written exams - of 3 hours each, (2) stage performance or Rang Manch Pradarshan and (3) 1 hour Vaiva a one-on-one practical examination. Each part evaluates the students’ complete knowledge and performance in detail, in every aspect of Kathak. |
